Wyandotte

These birds originated in America with the silver laced being standardised in
1883. Shortly afterwards it was introduced to England where the lacing and
ground colouring was perfected and it was crossed with other breeds to produce
the prolific number of colour varieties now available. These docile birds
are graceful, balanced yet alert and active. They are very curvaceous birds and
even the eggs are rather rounded. They are good layers and broodies; and are
also good for meat, though the skin is yellowish so not popular commercially in
this country, where white skin is preferred.

Barred, Black, Blue, Buff, Columbian, Partridge, Silver Pencilled, Red,
White, Silver Laced, Gold Laced, Blue Laced and Buff Laced.
White Laced Buff, Violet Laced, Blue Laced, Buff and Cuckoo are also seen in
Bantams
