Our Light Sussex

23rd November 2003. A few new additions to our Breeds - an early Christmas present. These are bantams too but much bigger than our other birds.  They were very high on our wanted birds list as they are so pretty and distinctive, but it's taken us all this time to get around to finding suitable stock

They have recently started laying so we again have eggs to eat, and I am incubating some so that we will have some home-bred birds to show later on.

14th March 2004. These birds are proving excellent layers and we are getting three eggs from the four hens daily. They are fertile and I have several chicks which hopefully contain our future show winners.

March 2007. During the Bird Flu scare we had to reduce our numbers so we could keep all our chickens inside without over-crowding. The Sussex were sold on so we now we have just one pair.
