Sebright

True Bantam

The Sebright is a true, British bantam, which was
created by Sir John Sebright in the early 1800s. Their attractive laced
feathering makes them very popular, but they are not a beginners bird as they
are not very fertile, not very hardy and prone to stress. They are highly strung
birds but become tame with handling. They are usually kept as pairs to keep
stress levels down. Each of the gold or silver feathers should have the finest
of black lines around the edge. Both have rounded feathers. The male has a
distinct rose comb.
