A large fowl created in
Orpington, Kent by William Cook. The original black was created in 1886,
followed by the white in 1889 and the buff in 1894. Also in bantam. The rare
Jubilee colour was created in honour of Queen Victoria’s celebration, and
their royal connection continued with the late Queen Mother’s interest in the
breed. Large and docile, yet active birds if not allowed to over indulge.
Note: The Buff and White
colours are smaller than the Black and Blue
