DIY Brooder Ring

Parts:           1        6’ x 1’ sheet of Hardboard

2        1½ ” x 1” x 1’ lengths of wood (1 pre-drilled and countersunk)

6        20mm panel pins

2        1½ ” posidrive screws
Method:
1.      Drill and countersink 2 holes in one of the pieces of wood.

2.      Nail each piece of wood through the hardboard at each end on opposite sides

3.       Bend the hardboard around in a circle until the ends overlap. (Smooth inside)

4.       Then insert screws into pre-drilled holes in the one piece of wood.

5.       Screw through two thicknesses of hardboard into the other piece of wood (from the inside).

5.       Suspend Broody Lamp over the ring at a suitable height.
NB: If chicks huddle in the middle (too cold) then lower the lamp, if they scatter around the outside (too hot) then raise the lamp.
