Frizzle
General Description:
Large
(2.2Kg-3.6Kg) Bantam
(570g-790g)
The Frizzle was bred as a purely exhibition bird
and is originally from Asia. The unusual feathers all curl towards the head.
Curled feathers occasionally occur naturally in many breeds. The Frizzle is a
specific breed though Frizzled Pekins and Frizzled Japanese are often bred.
These birds follow the standards for Pekins and Japanese respectively, with
frizzled feathers. Frizzles are easily confined as they cannot fly but must have
access to draught-free, warm and dry quarters as their feathers do not give them
much protection from bad weather.
Main Colours:
Blue, Black, Buff, White, Black-Red, Duckwing, Columbian, Cuckoo, Pyle and
Spangled
